Wink Snap a Photo with Google Glass

11:28 By

It’s easier than ever to take a photograph with Google Glass. Just wink. That is, if you have a pair of Google Glasses and you can wink with your right eye. I don’t and I can’t.

But, the feature is definitely cool and according to the company’s blog post on the topic, the wink feature could eventually be used for more than snapping images. You could wink a taxi meter to pay the fare, for example, or wink at a pair of shoes in a shop window to make that purchase.

Google Glass An Augmented Reality Is Here To Stay

Or, “You wink at a cookbook recipe and the instructions appear right in front of you — hands-free, no mess, no fuss.”

Don’t accidentally get grapefruit pulp stuck in your eye, though, you might be winking uncontrollably without knowing it and snapping photographs left and right of God knows what.

Amazing Treehouse

05:47 By

The Yellow Tree house Restaurant

The Yellow Tree house Restaurant is located in Auckland, New Zealand. It was designed by architects from Pacific Environments Architects, an impressive venue that is used for fine dining, private parties, corporate functions and more.

The Invisible Tree house Hotel

This cool tree house hotel is located in Harrads, Sweden and it features a reflective outer surface which makes it difficult to spot. It is suspended above the ground from wires that are attached to four trees.

Okinawa Tree house Restaurant

This is not a real Banyan tree, it is a replica but it is so cool that it still deserves a mention. This is an Asian restaurant that definitely stands out and there is an elevator inside the tree trunk.

Trillium Treehouse

The Trillim Treehouse is one of the treehouses located at Treehouse Point in Washington. There are five treehouses at the property that are used for weddings and other events.

The HemLoft

The HemLoft looks cool and it actually has a very interesting story attached to it. A secret tree house that was built on crown land by a man with a passion for carpentry who had lost his job and was sleeping in his car.

UFO Treehouse Hotel

The UFO Treehouse Hotel was designed by some of Scandanavias leading architects and for it they were awarded The Swedish Grand Tourism Prize in 2011.

4Treehouse

The 4Treehouse by Lukasz Kos was constructed around a base of four fir trees near Lake Muskoka in Ontario, Canada. Lukasz Kos is the co-founder of a Toronto design and architecture firm named Testroom.

Broccoli Treehouse

This one doesn’t really do anything, but it is really cool! I think I could probably design and build one like this myself.

Amazing Air-Powered LEGO Car

03:26 By

Life Size Lego Car Powered by Air

Melbourne entrepreneur and marketer Steve Sammartino and his Romanian buddy Raul Oaida, who happens to be a ‘technology genius,’ are truly insane.

The adult children teamed up to not only create a full sized Lego car made up of over half a million pieces, but they even made sure the car was completely functional.

Better yet, the engine–which has four orbital engines and a total of 256 pistons–runs on pure air pressure.

Super Awesome Micro Project Factoids:

- The engine is made from standard Lego pieces and runs on air!
- The engine has four orbital engines and a total of 256 pistons.
- More than 500,000 LEGO pieces.
- Top speed around 20-30km (We drive it slow as are scared of giant lego explosion)
- Built in Romania and shipped to a secret location in Melbourne.
- It's a Hot Rod design, mainly because hot rods are cool.

Hotel in Munich Transformed in 88 Different Ways

13:05 By

This is a real building; you’re looking at an actual hotel in Munich, made much, much more interesting by VĂctor Enrich. The site is the latest addition to the photographer’s portfolio of mind-bending architectural distortions; here, he’s transformed the same building 88 times, each more WTF than the last.

The most amazing thing is that they all look… believable. They obviously aren't feasible as brick-and-mortar constructions, but somehow he manages to make it seem like they could be.

Fake Window (Beautiful Scenery)

12:22 By

Civil engineers keep coming up with wonderful and amazing engineering products. One of the main factors that they need to consider is cost efficiency of the particular project. How to save materials and how to utilize them smartly is very important.
In China, new apartment complex has been constructed in the city of Qingdao and is being mentioned in news with cutting down costs, but how?

Do you notice anything strange about this building in Qingdao, Shandong province? The building, recently completed, houses low-cost apartments created by the government.china-qingdao-painted-windows-on-residential-high-rise-apartment.

Here’s a clue. Look at the windows.

The Yichang Meijing (“Beautiful Scenery”) Residential Neighborhood in Qingdao city’s Shibei district is a low-cost high-rise residential complex. On the walls of three buildings many “windows” were neatly painted.china-qingdao-painted-windows-on-residential-high-rise-apartment-
The buildings under construction are affordable low-cost residential real estate. On the outer walls of the north face of the buildings are painted “fake windows” matching the specifications of the windows around it.

Apparently, the fake windows are on an area of the building that houses a staircase where it would have been impractical to have real windows, the government explained, and they were made for purely aesthetic reasons.

Eco friendly Staircase by Paul Cocksedge

08:18 By

The living staircase’ is actually a combination of a staircase and room, of movement and stillness, vertical and horizontal,’ explains Paul Cocksedge. ‘At every turn, there is an opportunity to stop and look, smell, read, write, talk, meet, think and rest. if a staircase is essentially about going from A to B, there is now a whole world living and breathing in the space between the two.
To transform the function of a series of steps so that they become much more than just a means of transitioning between floors, Paul Cocksedge has envisioned ‘the living staircase’.

The central load bearing pillar is removed from the staircase and replaced by platforms at each level.
